Configure the Router

Troubleshooting

Now you are ready to configure the router. You do this by completing the router EZSetup form, which is located on the router.

Before you continue, make sure you have your list of IP and serial interface parameters handy. We suggest that you print a sample copy of the Router EZSetup form and fill in all the values you want to enter on the form located on the router.

Troubleshooting

If you did not get to the router EZSetup form on the router or if the router did not configure properly, try one or more of the following steps until you succeed in configuring the router:

Check that the Ethernet Connections is correctly connected.
If you have already clicked new-router.cisco.com , turn off the router off. Then restart the router try to configure the router using the EZSetup form.
If your initial configuration attempt did not work, turn off the router. Restart the router and exit from and restart your browser. Try to configure the router using the EZSetup form.
If you reconfigured TCP on your PC and did not reboot the PC, reboot the PC and try to configure the router.
If your router was previously configured, ClickStart will not work. To use ClickStart, connect a terminal to the router's console port and use the erase startup-config command to erase the existing configuration file. Then use the Setup form to configure the router.
