Verify the TCP/IP Configuration on a Windows 95 PC

To verify the TCP/IP configuration on a PC running Windows 95, perform the following tasks by using the Network Control Panel and selecting the TCP/IP configuration information:

  1. In the IP Address section, check that the PC has the correct IP address.

  2. Load the ClickStart Install Program for Windows disk in your PC and follow the instruction contained on the ClickStart for Cisco 700 Series Routers quick reference card included in your router package.

Note When you actually configure the router, Windows 95 may display error messages indicating that it has found another computer on the network with the same IP address. Ignore these messages by clicking OK in the error message window.

  1. When you have configured the router, set the default gateway to the router's IP address.

If you change any of these parameters from previous settings, you must restart your PC.
