Using Command Line Utilities

Using Command Line Utilities

Introduction

You can launch all TrafficDirector executable files and utilities directly from the command line. This chapter lists each executable file and utility, with a short description.

To list the arguments for an executable file or utility, enter its name at the command prompt, followed by a space, and press Enter. TrafficDirector lists the arguments, if any.

In this chapter, the DOS prompt is indicated by "%".

Running Command Line Utilities Using TrafficDirector Shell

To run command line utilities, select TrafficDirector Shell from the TrafficDirector Main menu. A window appears with a command line. Enter the the utilities described in this chapter on the TrafficDirector Shell command line.

The TrafficDirector Shell lets you run "dv" commands only. However, you can use dvbatch to run any DOS batch file, or nsrun to run any DOS *.exe file.
