Entertainment (Shows)

The entertainment in Myrtle is excellent. All shows run at least 10 months out of the year. Some are not available during January and February as rehearsals for new shows are held these months. We've included a phone number list of the most popular places below and some information on the shows we have seen.

Alabama Theatre - The regular show at this theatre is very good. It's probably the best show in town. It is typically a music variety show which is mostly country. They incorprate dancing and comedy into the act. Shows usually start at 8pm, but get there by 7:30. There is a pre-show comedian who is very entertaining. Check with the theatre to make sure you are seeing the regular show. They have concerts on some nights.

Carolina Opry - This is a variety show which is very similar to the Alabama Theatre show. We recommend this show, however, we liked the show at the Alabama Theatre a little better (at least during the years that we saw them). These shows change every year so it is difficult to predict which one will be better.

Pirate Show - Don't have any details on this show yet.

Medieval Times - There are about 7 or 8 of these in the country. If you've never seen this show before we'd recommend it. It is quite different from all other shows in the area and is worth seeing. They provide a similar meal to the one served at the Dixie Stampede.

The Palace - The Palace has a variety of shows so you'd have to call to find out what's happening. It is well worth the time. The Palace draws some big name performers on occasion. It is located in Broadway at the Beach.

Legends in Concert - Tickets for this show run about $25. It is a good show featuring impersonators of some of the most popular singers/performers of the past 50 years. Popular name include Rod Stewart, Cher, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton and Elvis to name a few.

Carolina Improv Comedy - This improv comdey show is family friendly. It is held at the Uptown Theater which is located in the Myrtle Beach Mall in North Myrtle.

Check the entertainment map(next page) for the location of these shows.
