Broadway at the Beach - This is a great place for "clubing". There are about 6 clubs in a small area called "Celebration Square" located within Broadway. There is a variety of music between the clubs (Disco, Piano and Beach to name a few) and they are very popular. These clubs charge a cover, but some of them are operated jointly so paying one cover may get you into 2 or 3 different bars. We highly recommend Crocodile Rocks(piano bar). It is a combination of good music and comedy that is very entertaining. This place attracts people of all ages and gets packed early so if you want a good seat you need to be there by 8:30. There is a bar called "Stool Pigeons" around the front corner of Celebrity Square. A lot of locals hang out here. It is a good warmup place before hitting the Clubs. It has a couple of dart boards and a pool table. They usually have good draft specials.
Ron Jons - A low key Sports Bar that is just a couple miles away. Good happy hour specials and decent food (always have $2 burgers).
The Bowery - If you like country music and want to listen to a good band, go to The Bowery. The Bowery is where Alabama got started. It opened in 1944. The "Bounty Hunters" is the name of the band that has been playing there in recent years. They play a good mix of old and new country (mostly rowdy stuff). It is located in downtown Myrtle on 9th Ave North between Ocean Blvd and the ocean.
Ocean Annies - There is an ocean bar owned by Sands Ocean Club resort called Ocean Annies. They have bands playing most of the day after noon. The music is usually beach or shag. It is a good place to go if you just want to hang out during the afternoon. Sands Ocean Club is located on Shore Drive which is between Myrtle and North Myrtle. Turn right onto Lake Arrowhead Rd off 17 when heading toward North Myrtle. Lake Arrowhead Rd runs in to Shore Drive (check map). Sands Ocean Club is a tall pink building on the left which you can't miss.
Bummz Beach Cafe - Located on Myrtle beach at 20th ave north. This is a good place for happy hour. They have an outdoor bar right on the beach and usually have live music.
2001 - This is a very popular club located off Lake Arrowhead Rd. It is three clubs in one which include Dance, Beach and "50/60"s music.
House of Blues - Located in North Myrtle next to the Alabama Theatre. We've heard good things about the bands that play there. They aren't always Blues' bands. Call ahead to see who's playing outdoors.
Coconuts Comedy Club - located at 19th Ave North and 17 business. Phone 448 - JOKE.
Comedy Cabana - located in North Myrtle. Phone 449-4242.
